Construction starts on world's largest solar development

Major construction work has started on the 579MW Antelope Valley Solar Projects being developed by SunPower and MidAmerican Solar, which owns the development. Comprising two projects co-located in Kern and Los Angeles counties in California, 650 workers will be employ during a three-year construction period. More than $500mn in regional economic impact will be generated, the majority during construction. It is the world's largest solar power development under construction. When complete, it will provide enough energy to power approximately 400,000 average California homes.
