SEEV4-City pilot projects to trial vehicle-to-grid technology in European cities

The innovative SEEV4-City project will explore the use of electric vehicles (EVs) to support the energy infrastructure through vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging, and by using EV batteries as short term storage for renewable energy, Cenex - the UK's first Centre of Excellence for low carbon technologies - will lead the SEEV4-City project, to support the transition to a low carbon economy in European cities by combining electric transport, renewable energy, and smart energy management. The project is part-funded by the EU's Interreg North Sea Region Programme. Working with 13 international partners, Cenex will coordinate the SEEV4-City operational pilots in five European cities -Leicester/Loughborough in the UK, Kortrijk in Belgium, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Hamburg in Germany, and the Norwegian capital Oslo.
