A Companion to Henry James

A Companion to Henry James, with its 28 contributors drawn from universities all over the world, provides a testament to the lasting greatness of Henry James and his achievements. Further testimony to this may be found in the monumental, ongoing The Complete Letters of Henry James (Walker and Zacharias, 2006) and recent fictional novels about James, including for instance Author, Author (Lodge, 2005). Greg W. Zacharias, the director and co-general editor of the Henry James Letters Project, edits A Companion to Henry James and provides a succinct six-paragraph Introduction (pp. 1-3). He also contributes an informative essay to the Companion on Timeliness and Henry James's Letters (pp. 261-73). In this, Zacharias explains the editorial methodology of the edition of the letters and their overall importance.
