As the author states in her introduction, there is no primary source for musicians who want to discover, explore, and obtain Latin American art song. There is very little performance scores in the published repertoire, so this book attempts to bridge that gap. It is not meant to be a definitive nor comprehensive work, but rather a representative one. It is meant to be a reference for teachers and performers of Latin American vocal music, providing basic information on composers, compositions, range and tessitura, while also providing publishing or contact information for purchase or study.
