PubMed Central Canada: A Free Archive of Life Science Journals

PubMed Central Canada (PMCC) is an open access database which indexes biomedical medical/health-related research articles, often with full text access. But the database goes beyond indexing. A joint project of the Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the United States National Library of Medicine (NLM), the aim of the database, as stated on their information page, is to provide "free access to a stable and permanent online digital archive of full text, peer- reviewed health and life science research publications". PMCC is part of a consortium, PubMed Central International, begun by PubMed Central (PMC) of the United States National Library of Medicine (NLM). UK PubMed Central (UKPMC) (RR 2011/380) joined the group early in 2007, and PMCC joined in January 2009.
