This is a most beautiful book with its 250 colour illustrations of some of the world's most exceptional and valuable pieces of jewellery. Each piece is written about in full - rather in the style of an auction catalogue. This is unsurprising as the two authors are experts working for Sotheby's auction house in London. David Bennett is Chairman of Sotheby's International Jewellery Division for Europe and the Middle East and has been involved with the auction house for the past 30 years. His colleague, Daniela Mascetti, joined Sotheby's in 1980 and is a well-known scholar and expert in the field of international jewellery sales.
