Encyclopedia of National Dress: Traditional Clothing around the World

What we wear sends out dozens of clues about who we are - including profession, ethnicity, and often, country or geographical area of origin. The Encyclopedia of National Dress looks at what the introduction describes as "national dress, folk costume, and ethnic dress" in over 130 nations and regions. Jill Condra, the editor, has taught on clothing and textiles at the University of British Columbia, the University of Prince Edward Island, and the University of Manitoba. A total of 46 writers from around the world have contributed to this work running to two volumes in print, but reviewed here in its e-book version.
