Plenty of references sources list cocktail recipes, public houses and histories of distilleries; this encyclopaedia takes some of that traditional quick look-up reference and places quick facts into stories and histories about the social and cultural phenomenon of alcohol, including temperance movements, alcohol-related illness, taxation and religious practices and prohibitions.
