Terrorism, 2013-2015: A Worldwide Chronology

Online chronologies on terrorism abound. The National Counterterrorism Center, the US government agency charged with coordinating all information on terrorism, publishes timelines of significant terrorist events worldwide. The RAND Database of Worldwide Terrorism Incidents is a similar compilation. The Global Terrorism Database maintained by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland dates back to 1970 and is richly detailed. The list of terrorist incidents cited in the leading US government publication on the subject, the US Department of State's annual Country Reports on Terrorism (formerly known as Patterns of Global Terrorism) goes back to 1995 and is another frequently cited source.
