Text Message Reference at NYU Libraries

The New York University's Libraries text message reference service is two and a half years old. As a pilot project, NYU librarians used a dedicated mobile device to provide the text service before transitioning to LibraryH3lp's Android SMS gateway. The service is described as neither synchronous nor asynchronous.
