When Janet and I decided to change over to Futaba 2.4GHz R/C, neither of us followed my piece of advice in the accompanying text (i.e. read the instructions properly) but happily did what we've always done with receivers in the past, and lovingly put them to bed in a blanket of foam deep within the bowels of the model. Having been prompted to take a closer look at the instructions I found that a 2.4 receiver needs a cool environment and should be stuck in its naked state within the fuselage using double-sided tape. With this I quickly discovered that double-sided tape doesn't cling onto the rough balsa internals of a fuselage too well. The solution is to apply a little thin cyano to the area of balsa where the tape will be applied, this followed by a very light sanding with fine wet-and-dry to remove the hairy bits.
