SGR & S8R

FrSky have recently launched two new receivers to operate with Taranis and Horus systems and with stabilisation built in.The S6R is a 6-channel Rx, similar to the X6R, the S8R is an 8-channel unit, again, similar to the X8R. While I'm no big fan of auto-stabilisation, the price of these receivers made them attractive, being almost the same as the standard X6R and X8R units. Currently these receivers are only supplied with the standard whip aerials and not the paddle type, though as the aerials simply plug in, it is possible to convert to the paddle type. This will add a further £4. Possibly by the time you read this, the S8R will be available with either aerial as is the X8R. As I have never had range problems with the FrSky kit this was not an issue for me. Having now converted all my Taranis gear to EU LBT, I opted for the EU LBT firmware version.
