CLUB AJAX

Project Ajax is complete although I've been surprised at how much time the thing has taken. It's easy to assume that a small rubber-powered model-albeitone with a rudderservo -would be done in a matter of days. To recap, you'll recall thatsomeone in my clubs uggested a Kell Kraft Ajax competition this summer usingthe refreshed kit recently released by Ripmax. Someone else suggested adding an R/C rudder as a means of keeping everyone in the same field and, again, we all agreed. A bulk purchase was made, kits distributed and nearly everyone has been building. Mine is unflown. I'll wait till the kinder, warmer weather arrives before committing aviation. The kit is fine although, as I mentioned in last month's column, there are a few niggles that could have been addressed at the refresh' stage, but nothing serious. Strangely, for reasons I'm strugglingto find, I seem to have had more accidental tissue tearing and airframe breaking moments with this 30" span model than I did with the 13" span Peck Polymer Nesmith Cougar 'Peanut' that preceded it.
