Keisei's New Narita Sky Access Service EMUs

The Keisei Dentetsu, part of the Keisei Group, which operates several railway networks and a couple of cable-ways in the Chiba and Tokyo district, now has new EMUs for its Narita Sky Access line. This runs from Keisei-Takasago via Chiba to Narita Airport Terminal 1, mostly within Chiba prefecture, to the east of Tokyo. The line, inaugurated on 17 July 2010, makes use of the abandoned trackbed of the unfinished Narita Shinkansen line. The latter was built between 1974 and 1983, when construction ceased following considerable local opposition to the scheme - it would have brought no benefits to local residents.
