Strengthening at Sherburn begins

Work began on strengthening the embankment next to Sherburn-in-Elmet station (North Yorkshire) on January 25.The land behind Platform 2 has become unstable, and the £413,000 project will ensure that the platform the embankment supports is similarly supported. Improvements will also be made to sections of the platform floor.
