LNER Mk 3s make final journeys

Scrapping of former LNER High Speed Train Mk 3s that were previously stored at Potter Group, Ely, has begun. Eight coaches were taken to Sims Metals, Newport Docks, for disposal on February 18, while another had left the Cambridgeshire site in late January by road, bound for C F Booth at Rotherham. Making their final journey on February 18 were Trailer Standard (TS) 42104/122/161/171/172, 42219 and Trailer Guard's Standard (TGS) 44031/056. All were from former LNER set EC54, other than 42104 and 44056, which were previously part of EC60.
