Royals take UK tour on Royal Train tothank key workers

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made a 1,250-mile round-Britain tour using the Royal Train on December 6-8, to pay tribute to organisations and individuals who have supported local communities during 2020. Beginning at London Euston, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton (who was making her maiden trip aboard the Royal Train) travelled to Edinburgh Waverley, before heading to Wales and finishing in Windsor. The train ran in accordance with the Government's COVID guidance, although politicians in both Scotland and Wales criticised the timing of the trip with infection rates still high. Prior to leaving Euston, the couple met railway transport staff who have worked through the pandemic to keep passengers safe. Arriving at Edinburgh, they met paramedics and staff from the Scottish Ambulance Service, while at Berwick-upon-Tweed they met schoolchildren to recognise the work of teachers through the pandemic.
