GB Railfreight will continue operating the Calais-Irvine leg of clay trains that start in Antwerp (Belgium). The deal is in partnership with LINEAS and now ends in December 2021. Two or three trains per month carry 1,200 tonnes of kaolin clay. GBRf collects the train at Calais, and hauls it through the Channel Tunnel to Dollands Moor on a Tuesday night, before it leaves for Scotland the following night. The empties are returned on a Friday night.
