New arrivals swell the ranks of Scottish IC7 HSTs

Two more ScotRail Inter7City High Speed Trains have been delivered to the operator, taking the number of sets to 20 from an order of 26. First to leave Wabtec Rail, Doncaster, was set HA11 on August 6, formed of Trailer Guard's Miniature Buffet First (TGFB) 40611 and Trailer Standard (TS) 42267, 42301/305. The TGFB was converted from Trailer First (TF) 41130. This was followed on August 17 by HA13, formed of TGFB 40613 and TS 42279/280/296. The TGFB was converted from 41135. The six sets still to move to Scotland are HA06/14/15/17/19/20. No five-coach set is yet in traffic - eventually 17 of the IC7 sets will have five Mk 3s, with the remaining members all four-coach. One set (HA22) was involved in the Carmont accident on August 12 and is out of traffic. On August 24, seven former Great Western Railway HST Mk 3s (TS 42023/033/054/077/078/096, 42185) arrived at Wabtec Rail, Doncaster, for conversion to IC7 stock for ScotRail.
