Trespasser jailed over St Pancras roof incident that cost an estimated £1m

A trespasser who climbed on top of a tunnel near St Pancras station on March 31, causing disruption estimated to have cost £1 million, has been jailed for a year. Terry Maher (44) was found guilty of malicious obstruction of the railway, and was sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court on August 12. Maher's actions halted domestic and international trains on High Speed 1, causing 88 trains to be cancelled and directly affecting around 22,000 passengers.
