Stagecoach and Arriva take legal action as franchise row escalates

Stagecoach launched legal action against the Department for Transport on May 8, over the procurement of the East Midlands franchise. Fellow bidder Arriva is also (separately) taking legal action against the DfT. An Arriva spokesman said: "We can confirm that we are seeking to obtain more information relating to how the bids for the East Midlands franchise were assessed." Stagecoach is also preparing a claim for a Judicial Review into the decision to disqualify Stagecoach's bid and award the EM franchise to Abellio.
