Sheffield lays groundwork for tram-train schemes

One million passengers have used the Sheffield tram-train in the first year of its trial, according to South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE). Celebrating the milestone on October 25, Sheffield City Region Mayor Dan Jarvis said: "We're proud to be leading the way with light rail innovation, and other towns and cities are looking to use our technology as a blueprint for similar schemes."
