Newton-le-Willows Interchange opens

The revamped Newton-le-Willows station has opened, after an £18.95 million upgrade. The work involved creation of step-free access with a new subway and lifts, a bus interchange next to the new ticket office, a 400-space car park, a pick-up and drop-off area, better waiting and toilet facilities, and extra cycle parking. A new main entrance and ticket office have been built on the south side of the tracks.
