NRM stops main line diesel locomotive operation

THE National Railway Museum is to cease main line operation of its diesel and electric locomotive fleet - and says it will not be restoring any diesel locomotives other than the Class 02 and Class 37 for operation. Its Operational Rail Vehicle Strategy recommends that the remainder of the diesel locomotive collection should be repaired so that they are physically complete and safe to be moved. The cost of these repairs is currently being assessed.
