Rotherham tram-train moves forward

Network Rail says that the project to introduce tram-train services operating between the Sheffield Supertram network and Rotherham will take 'a significant step towards completion' later this month, with the start of work to rebuild a bridge in Rotherham in order to provide sufficient clearance for OHLE. For the DfT tram-train pilot, NR is undertaking electrification between Meadowhall South and Rotherham Parkgate, including the new 400 m Tinsley Chord con- necting Supertram to the national network.
