Nexus Alpha has introduced an application programming interface for its JourneyCheck Alerts system, currently used by TOCs to provide disruption alerts to customers. Alerts can now be integrated with mobile devices, apps and configured through ticketing engines. Real-time alerts on service delays, cancellations and alterations — as well as details of services that might be affected by severe route disruption - are already delivered to customers via e-mail or SMS, and a push notification service is due to be added in the near future. Alerts can also be delivered by Twitter.
