Royal Assent for HS2

Construction of HS2 Phase 1 'will now begin on schedule in the spring', according to DfT, following the granting of Royal Assent on February 23 for the High Speed Rail (London - West Midlands) Bill. During its third reading in the Commons the bill had been passed by 399 votes to 42, while in the Lords the vote had been 386 to 26.
