Labour maintains pressure on Southern force majeure

On February 6 Transport Minister Paul Maynard answered a series of written questions from Shadow Transport Secretary Andy McDonald. The Labour MP had begun by asking when DfT's review of Southern performance was expected to be completed. Maynard replied that the scale of the industrial action at Southern had caused significant disruption to passengers, 'which is reflected in the force majeure claim by Govia Thameslink Railway'. DfT must be satisfied that force majeure is appropriate, and with such a complex claim to analyse the process was 'ongoing', he told the House of Commons.
