Bi-modes to incur higher access charges

In a letter to the Commons Public Accounts Committee dated December 22 2016, DfT Permanent Secretary Philip Rutnam responded to a number of points raised during an evidence session on the Great Western Route Modernisation programme a week earlier. Conservative MP for South Norfolk Richard Bacon had asked about the quantified financial benefit of reduced wear and tear on the track from electric trains compared to bi-modes.
