The following is a great example of an aviation enthusiast's initiative coupled with efficient ATC and a pilot who did all the right things. Tony Hall tells the story, "As a reader of your slot in RadioUser / thought you might be interested to hear about a Piper Cub that was well and truly stuck in a headwind on September 5th. I was staying at a hotel in Aberporth on that Sunday and at 19.30,1 noticed a light aircraft almost stationary overhead. I initially thought he has larking about as I unpacked my bags from the car but realised he had got nowhere in about 10 minutes.
