Noise in silicon carbide non-linear resistors

This paper deals with the noise arising in excess of thermal noise when a steady current is passed through a silicon-carbide nonlinear resistor. Curves are given showing the variation of excess noise with current for four different resistors. Pulses of an amplitude considerably greater than the r.m.s. value of the excess noise are found to occur. These are photographed and their amplitude is measured.
