IOTA

May's IOTA column mentioned the two new IOTA YaesuFT-900 rigs we named HB9DX-1 and HB9DX-2. We have now decided to base one of these rigs in Kuala Lumpur in West Malaysia and Ray Gerrard, G3NOM/9M2OM, has kindly agreed to manage the deployment of this rig. This will be an excellent base as there are now relatively few problems with customs and import/export licences in Malaysia. There are large numbers of very rare and unactivated IOTA groups in South East Asia particularly in Indonesia and Thailand so we hope to hear the rig HB9DX-1 in use in late 1997.
