Further details on how to build your own PC are included this month. This is the second and concluding part of the item - part one appeared in the April Data Stream - and information was again supplied by Mark Taylor, GOLGJ. There are too many makes/models to mention individually but the motherboard you choose must be able to handle the CPU which you want to put inside it. Check that the motherboard is compatible with the different makes of CPU, ie INTEL, CYRIX, AMD and IBM. Some are not compatible, as they cannot supply the voltage/current combination to power the CPU. Also check the number of ISA/PCI/VL slots that are available.
