MAINS FILTERS

More and more CE-marked equipment has a mains filter. Should we amateurs be fitting them too? FOR SEVERAL REASONS, we probably should. The 'CE' regulations cover three aspects that might call for a mains filter: 1. Susceptibility to mains-borne interference to the equipment 2. Interference from the equipment radiated by the mains lead 3. Interference from the equipment conducted along the mains lead.
