Oscar 13 eventually re-entered the atmosphere on 5 December 1996, as predicted by James Miller, G3RUH. Its final 'drag factor' was not as severe as expected. Since its launch on 15 June 1988, it has proved an excellent mode of communication; its orbit giving the advantage of really good DX facilities. It has lasted far longer than expected and has been very reliable. It will be much missed by satellite DXers. Congratulations to those who designed and built it and to those who controlled it after launch.
