Long Yagis for 435MHz feature in most antenna books', but few of them show how an amateur can build one which rivals the best commercial offerings. Noel Hunkeler, F5JI0, described how he made his in Radio-REF 3/98. Dimensions for the famous DL6WU designs can be found in Rothammel, the German antenna 'bible'. It also contains suggestions for the mechanics and details of the corrections to element lengths as a function of the round or square boom diameter and element-to-boom fixing, ie through the boom, on the boom or above and insulated from the boom.
