Sporadic-E(Es)propaga- tion on 144MHz has been disappointing this summer, at least up to mid-July. By contrast, 50MHz saw plenty of European activity, but only fleeting transatlantic openings. On 144MHz there is a report of the reception of a Canadian beacon in Devon. An unexpected meteor outburst in late June took astronomers and meteor scatter (MS) operators by surprise.
