Build an E-Field Meter

When experimenting with antennas, an E-field meter is a handy device to determine strength and direction of the electric field around them. Commercial field strength meters usually employ a screened loop as an antenna. There is a simple formula for the voltage e_(ant) induced in a single turn loop when positioned for maximum signal in a field of E V/m: e_(ant) = 2πEA/λ in which A = area of loop in m~2 and λ = wavelength in m.
