Winter Sporadic-E livened up the 50MHz band on two days in the month to mid-February. Some auroral activity and slightly enhanced tropospheric propagation was reported in this period. All times are UTC. Stefan heck, laoby, advises that two Norwegian beacons are operating (QRV) again on 2m. LA6VHF (KP59) is on 144.468MHz and runs 300W ERP beaming at 210°. It uses high speed keying. LA7VHF (JP89MB) is on 144.451 MHz and runs 150W ERP beaming 190°. As soon as RFI problems are solved, the power will be increased to 500W. Both beacons are excellent indicators for Auroral-E propagation.
