IARU Region 1 Conference in Tel Aviv

More than 50 countries, and a 150 delegates, from Region 1 attended the IARU Region 1 Conference recently held in Tel Aviv. Many radio societies were present for the first time, particularly from Africa as well as from Europe. Region 2 was represented by its President Tom Atkins, VE3CDM, who also holds the call G4ABN; its Secretary Pedro Seidemann, YV5BPG; and Treasurer Steve Dunkerley, VP9IM. Region 3 was represented by Sangat Singh, 9M2SS; Michael Owen, VK3KI; M Young Soon Park, HL1FM; and Yoshiji Sekido, JA1OEY, whilst observers from Region 3 were Terry Carrell, ZL3QL; and Joong-Guea Rhee, HL1AOO. The President of IARU, Dick Baldwin, W1RU, was of course present, together with the Secretary, Larry Price, W4RA; Paul Rinaldo, W4RI; and David Sumner, K1ZZ.
