摘要

There have been references to the Radio Security Service (RSS) in several publications, but none devoted entirely to this service and the part played in it by radio amateurs. Following last month's exclusive RadCom account on the contribution made by radio amateurs to the development of early television, we are pleased to present another exclusive article, this time on the essential role played by amateurs in the Second World War. Bob King, G3ASE, was himself one of the 1500-plus Voluntary Interceptors, and his brief history helps to set the scene for the unique involvement of these 'secret listeners' spread throughout Britain.
