A Guide to HF Contesting

No matter how recently your interest in amateur radio has developed, you cannot have failed to come across a contest when tuning the HF bands. There are few weekends in the year when there is no contest activity on SSB, CW or RTTY. Generally speaking, because of the nature of propagation, HF contests tend to be busier than VHF contests, but the same basic skills are involved and an operator who is successful in one is likely to do well in the other.
