The great BATC get-together

Sunday 24 September saw the 2006 BATC BGM and general get together. This year it was held in the pretty Cambridge village of Stow Cum Quy. Incoming President Peter Blakeborough, G3PYB, took the opportunity to present a paper on why we need a spectrum friendly ATV system. Peter met some of the myths head on and came up with numerous solutions to implementing a digital ATV system. He also went on to say that in a few years time any wide band television signal on the airwaves would only be coming from an amateur source. I know many of us are not keen to grasp this nettle but the commercial pressures on the spectrum grow daily and we need to improve our act. We are all going to have to coexist with other users and we need to embrace what has become known as DATV.
