Moon meet-up

Moonbounce. The main news this month has to be about the highly successful EME2006 conference held in Wurzburg in Bavaria on 25-27 August. Around 140 moonbounce enthusiasts from Europe, North and South America, Japan, South Africa and Australia attended the event. The British attendees were G3LQR, G3LTF, G4DDK, G4HUR G4NNS, G4RGK and G4YTL. The programme included sightseeing, a flea market, lectures, barbecues and dinners. There was a noise factor and gain measuring session on 67 low noise amplifiers (LNAs) for the 70, 23, 13, 6 and 3cm bands conducted by Dominique Faessler, HB9BBD. On 70cm, one of DL9KR's designs using a MGF4919G came out best with a 0.4dB NF. On 23cm, HB9BBD's NE32484A was by far the best with a NF of 0.17dB.
