This month the well-travelled Dave Pick manages to touch on the Netherlands, Singapore, Hong Kong, France - and MOBMU'shack garden! ANYONE FOR GARDENING? As we head into the winter season and the static dies down, the nights get longer and we can look forward to improved conditions for LF DX. One thing to check before it gets too cold and wet is the condition of your aerial system, even if you're only listening it's important that the exterior connections are in good condition and that weeds, spider$, rodents etc haven't crept into any aerial tuning housings in the garden! Bad joints can cause all manner of cross-modulation and noise on received signals and weeds can alter the tuning. Bindweed is extremely persistent as Jim MOBMU can verify after it added a few unwanted "turns" to his loading coil.
