Although band conditions left a lot to be desired, the 2005 IOTA Contest brought some excellent Sporadic-E, at least in Europe, allowing plenty of 10m contacts to take place. Participation was also at an all-time high, with 1,349 entries and 122 checklogs. Some SWLs failed to note that there was no SWL section this year and sent in logs anyway. We thank them for their interest and are delighted to say that, thanks to a kind offer from the Mediterraneo DX Club, SWLs will be able to take part in 2006. More about this later.
