Many radio amateurs consider the design and construction of high power transistor amplifiers a black art that is best left to 'the experts'. Constructors will often choose to build all of the other stages of a transmitter and use a commercially made power amplifier (PA) for the final stage. Others prefer to build the PA from a kit that includes the PCB and all other components. This is certainly a viable approach and usually results in a working PA. Buying a complete kit saves you the trouble of looking for those exotic components like special grades of ferrite, silvered-mica capacitors, RF transistors etc.
