On 4 January, the Space Weather News website (Web search) announced the welcome news that Solar Cycle 24 had started. There is some evidence of this in the current solar data when, during the 30 days to 9 January, the 10.7cm radio flux was in the 90s for a few days the maximum being 94 on 12 and 13 December.
