When Duncan Cooper, MOWTG, training officer for Bittern DXers, took Molly, his seven years old daughter, to watch the radio group set up and organise the JOTA station for the first Rural Roughton Scouts, he little suspected that Molly would attempt and succeed in passing the Scout Radio Communication badge.rnScouts from the Sheringham and Cromer area, Brooke and Poringland met at Roughton Mill near Cramer to take part in JOTA. The Radio Communication Badge is one of a number of badges that can be awarded to Scouts, but some technical knowledge and understanding of the radio terminology and propagation is required.
