WIA Centenary Celebrations

As part of the celebrations for the Centenary of the Wireless Institute of Australia, the Ipswich & District Radio Club of Queensland, Australia will be hosting the Centenary call sign VK100WIA, on 1 to 3 July. The Ipswich Club plans to be on the HF bands 24 hours a day using a 9-element log periodic and 400 watts. In addition to this the Ipswich Radio Club has produced a collectable Centenary Challenge Coin with the WIA 100 YEAR logo on one side and the Ipswich & District Club crest on the other side. These will be available from their website for AU$10.00 plus postage, and will make a very nice memento for this once in a lifetime event.
